Where was your first overseas trip?
A school trip to Paris.

What sort of suitcase do you have?
A big red one made by Victorinox, the Swiss Army Knife people.

How do you pack?
Quickly and last minute. Sometimes I take everything, other times only just hand luggage.

What are the three most important items to pack when travelling?
Credit card, sunglasses, book.

What can’t you travel without?
My little black bag, which has everything from cufflinks to a Maglite in it

Name your most unusual souvenir?
A rubber fish pencil case (with one eye), bought at Sydney Aquarium this week.

Where is your favourite holiday destination and why is it your favourite?
The west coast of Scotland - white sands as fine as flour, blue seas and mountains - and no civilisation!

Where would you most like to live?
For one year in Sydney, then one year in New York.

Name the best three thing about Scotland?
Peace; the smell of the Highlands; my family.

How do you cope with jetlag?
I stumble around trying to stay awake on arrival, then crash out at night and go to the gym the next moring.

How do you pass the time on a plane?
I actually look out the windows - even at night I put a coat over the window and my head to block out the cabin light so I can see out.
